How to connect DPD Croatia and DPD Slovenia

Connect your DPD EasyShip account in Croatia or Slovenia to ShipDock (beta) to create DPD labels, offer DPD pickup points and send cash on delivery.

This guide is for shops that ship from Croatia or Slovenia with DPD and use DPD's EasyShip system. Once connected, you can create DPD labels from your Shopify orders, let customers pick a DPD pickup point and send cash on delivery (COD).

The integration is in beta. The cards are DPD HR - EasyShip API - BETA and DPD SI - EasyShip API - BETA, and they show: New integration. Carrier currently in BETA testing. Double-check labels, COD and shipping details before shipping. It works, but check your first labels, COD amounts and services carefully and tell ShipDock support if anything looks wrong.

Before you start

  • A DPD contract with DPD Croatia or DPD Slovenia, and a login to the EasyShip web portal. ShipDock uses the same Username and Password you use for the portal.

  • ShipDock plan: Lite is enough to connect DPD and show DPD pickup points. Creating labels needs the Full plan.

  • No test mode: there is no sandbox for EasyShip. Every label you create is a real shipment in DPD's system.

Connect DPD in ShipDock

  1. In ShipDock, open Providers and click Create provider. (On the home page you can also click Add a carrier.)

  2. In the country selector, choose Croatia or Slovenia, the country you ship from.

  3. On the card DPD HR - EasyShip API - BETA or DPD SI - EasyShip API - BETA, click Use in BETA. The courier is created and its detail page opens on the General tab.

  1. In the Connection card, turn on Connect provider throught API if it is off. The login fields appear only when it is on.

  2. Enter your EasyShip login:

    • Username: the same as for logging in to the EasyShip web portal.

    • Password: the same as for logging in to the EasyShip web portal.

  3. Leave Ignore fulfillments that don’t require shipping (in General settings) on, unless you have a reason to change it.

  4. In the Status panel on the right, choose Active. A new courier starts as Inactive.

  5. Click Save in the save bar at the top of the page.

Note: DPD Croatia and DPD Slovenia have no Sender details card and no COD Details card in ShipDock. ShipDock does not send a sender address with these labels.

Set up shipping rates

Tell ShipDock which of your shipping rates go to DPD. The courier has two tabs for this:

  • Home delivery tab: for delivery to the customer's address.

  • Pickup points tab: for delivery to a DPD pickup point the customer picks.

On each tab, under Choose integration, pick how the rates reach the checkout:

  • Manual rates mapping: you create the rates in Shopify and map them here. Under Shipping rates mapping, click Add delivery, pick the Shopify shipping rate, then choose the DPD service in Carrier.

  • CCS - Dynamic Rates (and CCS - Nearest Pickup Points on the Pickup points tab): ShipDock calculates the rates itself. These options are available only when ShipDock's carrier-calculated rates are active in your store.

The full walkthrough is in How to set up shipping rates.

Home delivery services you can choose in Carrier:

  • Croatia: DPD Home (B2C), DPD Business (B2C).

  • Slovenia: DPD Private (B2C), DPD Business (B2C).

DPD Home (B2C) and DPD Private (B2C) are meant for deliveries to consumers. The app describes DPD Business (B2C) as the standard service for business-to-business deliveries. Both services deliver to the EU and Norway.

On the Pickup points tab, the Exclusion card lets you hide pickup point types you do not want to offer: Parcelshop, DPD box and Box. To let customers pick a point, also add the pickup point widget, see How to add the pickup point widget to your store.

Both tabs also have Automatically generate shipping labels (Order Fulfilled) and Automatically generate shipping labels (Order Created) (Full plan).

Finally, create a test order with a DPD rate and create a label (see How to create and print shipping labels). Because there is no test mode, this is a real shipment: cancel it in the EasyShip portal if you do not send it.

What works with DPD Croatia and DPD Slovenia

  • Status: Beta.

  • Home delivery: Croatia: DPD Home (B2C), DPD Business (B2C). Slovenia: DPD Private (B2C), DPD Business (B2C). To the EU and Norway.

  • Pickup points: DPD Pickup shops and DPD lockers in 22 countries: AT, BE, BG, CH, CZ, DE, EE, ES, FR, HR, HU, IT, LT, LU, LV, NL, PL, PT, RO, SE, SI, SK.

  • Cash on delivery: Yes, for home delivery and pickup points.

  • Mark as paid automatically: Yes.

  • Cancel from ShipDock: No, cancel the shipment in the EasyShip portal.

  • Test mode: No.

  • Age verification 18+: Yes, per order: DPD checks the ID of the recipient named on the order.

  • Insurance value: Not sent to DPD.

  • Label formats: PDF, A6 or A6 on A4 (4 per page).

For age verification, open the order in ShipDock and turn on Age verification → Verify age when dispensing (18+) before you create the label. Automatic mark as paid also has to be turned on in your COD settings, see How to mark COD orders as paid automatically.

Limits

  • Beta: check the first labels, COD amounts and services before shipping larger volumes.

  • Services: only the two home delivery services per country listed above are available in ShipDock.

  • No cancellation from ShipDock: deleting a parcel in ShipDock removes it only from ShipDock. The shipment stays in EasyShip, so cancel it there, otherwise DPD may charge it.

  • Insurance: Override insurance value on an order has no effect for these couriers.

  • Outside the EU: Norway is outside the EU, but ShipDock does not send customs data for DPD. Check with DPD before shipping there.

Troubleshooting

Creating a label fails with an authentication or "unauthorized" error. Log in to the EasyShip web portal with the same username and password. If that works, re-enter them on the General tab without spaces and save.

Creating a label fails because the provider connection is disabled. Turn on Connect provider throught API on the General tab, fill in Username and Password and save.

"The shipping method … is not assigned to any provider". That Shopify rate is not mapped. Map it on the Home delivery or Pickup points tab, or change the carrier on the order.

"The customer didn't select a pickup point." The order uses a pickup point rate but no DPD point was chosen. Send the customer the pickup point reminder from the order, or change the pickup point yourself.

I deleted a parcel but it is still in EasyShip. Deleting does not cancel the shipment at DPD. Cancel it in the EasyShip portal.
