This guide is for shops that ship from the Czech Republic with DPD. In ShipDock this is the DPD CZ - Shipping API card. Parcels can go to every EU country and Norway, and customers can pick DPD pickup points in 22 countries.
You need a contract with DPD Czech Republic and access to the DPD Shipping API. DPD support generates the Token, Sender address Id and Customer Id. If you don't have them yet, contact DPD, for example at [email protected].
If you offer cash on delivery, also ask DPD support for GetParcelStatus login details. ShipDock needs them to mark COD orders as paid automatically.
Plan: Lite is enough to connect DPD and show DPD pickup points to customers. To create shipping labels through DPD, you need Full.
DPD CZ has no test mode. Every label you create is a real shipment.
In ShipDock, open Providers and click Create provider. You can also click Add a carrier on the ShipDock home page.
In the country selector, choose Czech Republic.
On the DPD CZ - Shipping API card, click Select. ShipDock creates the courier and opens its General tab.
In the Connection card, turn on Connect provider throught API.
Under DPD Shipping API Credentials, enter Token, Sender address Id and Customer Id.
Optional, for COD: under GetParcelStatus API Credentials, enter Username (Optional) and Password (Optional).
Optional: in Sender details, turn on Mask sender's address and fill in the address if it should differ from the one DPD has registered under your Sender address Id.
In the Status panel, choose Active.
Click Save.
Note: A new courier starts with Connect provider throught API off and the status Inactive. The sender address comes from DPD (your Sender address Id), so DPD CZ has no full sender address form.
Open the Pickup points and Home delivery tabs. Under Choose integration, pick how DPD reaches your checkout:
Manual rates mapping: select your existing Shopify shipping rates in Shipping rates mapping. For home delivery, also pick the DPD service for each rate, for example DPD Private (B2C).
CCS - Dynamic Rates: ShipDock calculates the rates for you. Your Shopify plan must allow carrier-calculated shipping rates.
CCS - Nearest Pickup Points (Pickup points tab only): the nearest DPD pickup points appear in checkout as shipping options.
On the Pickup points tab you can add the Shop To Shop extra service to a rate. The parcel then travels from a pickup point directly to a pickup point (CZ, SK, DE, HR, AT, ES, PL).
Details are in How to set up shipping rates. For the pickup point widget, see How to add the pickup point widget to the Thank you and Order status pages or How to add the pickup point widget to checkout (Shopify Plus).
DPD Private (B2C): All EU countries and Norway.
DPD Shop2Home (parcel goes from a pickup point to the customer's home): CZ, SK, PL, HR, ES.
DPD Classic (B2B): Czech Republic.
DPD Pneu: Czech Republic.
DPD Express 12:00: Czech Republic.
DPD Express 18:00: Czech Republic.
DPD Express EU: All EU countries and Norway.
DPD pickup shops and DPD lockers in 22 countries: AT, BE, BG, CH, CZ, DE, EE, ES, FR, HR, HU, IT, LT, LU, LV, NL, PL, PT, RO, SE, SI, SK. To hide a type, use the Exclusion card on the Pickup points tab (Parcelshop, DPD box, Box). The switches work only when the widget display mode is List with Map.
Home delivery: Yes, see the services above.
Pickup points: Yes, 22 countries, plus Shop To Shop.
Cash on delivery (COD): Yes, paid to the account in your DPD contract.
Mark COD orders as paid automatically: Yes, only with GetParcelStatus API Credentials filled in.
Cancel from the app: No, cancel the shipment with DPD.
Test mode: No.
Age verification 18+: Yes, per order: Edit order → Verify age when dispensing (18+) (ID check against the recipient's name).
Insurance value: Yes, per order: Edit order → Override insurance value.
Label formats: PDF: Labels, A6 on A6 and Labels, A6 on A4, 4pcs/page (also with packing slips).
You can connect DPD CZ once per store. After that the card shows Used. Other DPD variants (for example DPD PL) are separate cards with their own login.
Deleting a parcel in Orders removes it only from ShipDock. The shipment still exists at DPD, so cancel it there, otherwise DPD may charge it.
Without the GetParcelStatus login, COD orders stay unpaid in Shopify until you mark them yourself.
"Provider connection is disabled. Please activate API connection with credentials in the provider detail." Turn on Connect provider throught API on the General tab and save.
Authentication or "unauthorized" error when creating a label. Check Token, Sender address Id and Customer Id for extra spaces and make sure they belong to the same DPD account.
COD orders are not marked as paid. Fill in Username (Optional) and Password (Optional) under GetParcelStatus API Credentials. These are separate from the Token; DPD support creates them on request.
"Shopify Shipping Rate (…) in order not assigned in Shipping settings." Map that shipping rate on the DPD Pickup points or Home delivery tab.
