Liquid variables for the pickup point reminder email

All Liquid variables you can use in the subject and texts of the pickup point reminder email, with examples and conditions.

ShipDock sends a reminder email when a customer chooses delivery to a pickup point but does not select a specific point. You can personalise the subject and every text field of that email with the Liquid variables below. This page is the reference for that email, which you set up in Settings → Notifications.

Where to use them

Email customizer (the default editor):

  1. In ShipDock, open Settings → Notifications.

  2. Under Customize email reminder, click Customize email.

  3. On the Content tab, use the variables in any field: Subject, Title, Subtitle, Message, Button or Signature. The info box below the fields has a Show Liquid variables link that opens this page.

Older editor: stores that still use it edit Email subject and Email message as HTML templates. Show Liquid variables is above each template.

HTML works in all fields, so you can, for example, replace the title text with your logo (<img src="...">).

Variables

  • {{ order_status_url }}: Link to the customer's Order status page, where they select the pickup point. Example output: https://your-store.myshopify.com/25910870067/orders/a1038e2b51d494a2cd87255c621f6496.

  • {{ order_name }}: Order name as shown in Shopify, including its prefix. Example output: #1001.

  • {{ order_number }}: Order number without the prefix. Example output: 1001.

  • {{ shop_name }}: Your shop name. Example output: Your Store.

  • {{ shop_customer_email }}: Your customer support email. Example output: [email protected].

  • {{ customer_locale }}: The customer's language (locale). Example output: cs-CZ.

  • {{ country_code }}: Country code of the shipping address. Example output: CZ.

Spaces inside the braces are optional: {{order_name}} and {{ order_name }} both work.

Note: {{ order_name }} already contains the #. Write Order {{ order_name }}, not Order #{{ order_name }}, or the email shows Order ##1001.

order_status_url

The link only helps the customer if they can select a pickup point on that page. Add the Pickup point selector block to the Order status page in Shopify, see How to add the pickup point widget to the Thank you and Order status pages.

In the Email customizer, the Button already links to {{ order_status_url }}, so you only enter the button text. Use the variable yourself when you want a second link, for example in Message:

If the button does not work, open <a href="{{ order_status_url }}">your order</a>.

Examples

Default subject:

Select pickup point for order {{ order_number }}

Output: Select pickup point for order 1001

Subtitle with the order name:

Please select a pickup point for order {{ order_name }}

Output: Please select a pickup point for order #1001

Conditions

Liquid conditions work too. Use them, for example, to show a different text per shipping country:

{% if country_code == "SK" %}
Vyberte si výdajné miesto pre objednávku {{ order_name }}.
{% elsif country_code == "CZ" %}
Vyberte si výdejní místo pro objednávku {{ order_name }}.
{% else %}
Please select a pickup point for order {{ order_name }}.
{% endif %}

Tip: For full translations, fill in the texts per language in the Email customizer instead. The email is sent in the customer's language, and conditions are best for small differences.

Check the result

The preview in the Email customizer fills in sample values, for example order #0001. To see real values, use Send email test and enter your address in Test email: the test uses your store's latest order.

  • A variable shows nothing: check the spelling. Variable names are lower case with underscores, inside double curly braces. An unknown name prints nothing.

  • The preview shows the whole text with the raw `{{ ... }}` and `{% ... %}` tags: the template has a Liquid syntax error, for example {% if %} without {% endif %}. Fix the tag and the preview fills in the values again.
